The Best Finds at Trader Joe’s

I was so happy when they built a Trader Joe’s in Southlake! Still a farther drive than I want to make, but it is worth it. I will go about every other week and get a few of our favorite things. In my opinion, these are the best things at TJs. We like to shop here because what we get is delicious and it is good to have a few frozen meals in the freezer for those nights that you just don’t have the time to whip something up. Plus, it is easy for the hubs to make.

One of our favorite types of food is Asian food and you’ll notice that based on our meal choices haha. We’ve tried a few different options and here are the best finds that we love! Everyone has different tastes so something on this list might taste great to us, but you are not loving. However, my hope is you enjoy these as much as we do (:

Mandarin Orange Chicken

Although Panda Express orange chicken is delicious, this might be better! Yes, I said it! Even though we try not to eat a lot of chicken or red meat, this is something we like to have in our freezer if we need something easy to whip up. We usually eat this with the Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry.

Kung Pao Chicken

This dish has great flavor and is very yummy and filling. To get more veggies with this, we like to pair it with the Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry.

Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower

If you’re not a meat eater, this is a GREAT alternative. We love this dish. You need to eat it quickly though because even though the tempura cauliflower is crispy, once you put the sauce on it it can quickly turn mushy; still yummy though! We top this on a bed of the Japanese Style Fried Rice.

Honey Walnut Shrimp

Again, another Panda Express comparison. I think this is so much better than Panda. It’s so flavorful and quick and easy to whip up. I love a good crunch to any meal, so the walnuts were great with this meal. I like to serve this with the Japanese Style Rice, but when that isn’t available we pair it with the Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry.

Vegetarian Tamales with Cheese and Green Salsa

These obviously are not your typical tamales, but we love these so much. We top these off with sour cream and Green Dragon Sauce from TJ’s. These are quick to make, so they are perfect for a busy night or an easy lunch.

Sourdough Sandwich Bread

Taylor and I eat paninis at least once a week. Sourdough is our favorite panini bread and the size and way it is cut is perfect for a panini. Also makes great toast with some jam!

Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry

We probably buy this the most. It goes with every entree dish we get from TJ’s and gets some veggies in us! Definitely add some seasoning to this such as salt, pepper or garlic salt.

Japanese Style Fried Rice

I love this rice. It has a great flavor to it and is a perfect side dish. If they are sold out of this, I will get their Vegetable Fried Rice. Definitely not as flavorful, but a nice alternative.

Vegetable Spring Rolls

These are surprisingly delicious. This is a new find, but we get this every time we go to Trader Joe’s now. If you like sauce with your egg rolls, TJ’s sells a Sweet Chili sauce.

Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets

This is one of my favorite snacks. I keep these in my cabinet at work and snack on it during the day. It is an easy, mess free snack. I tried the unsalted, but it seemed so dry compared to these.

Raisin Rosemary Crisps

I love these crackers. They go great with the two cheeses I’ve listed below.

Unexpected Cheddar Cheese

This is shockingly delicious. My cousin mentioned that we HAD to get this and I am so happy I did. It is a hard cheese and goes great on a charcuterie board, but is a bit crumbly so I just piled it on the board.

Blueberry Vanilla Chevre Fresh Goat Cheese

LOVE THIS. It is so delicious. The goat cheese is so creamy. I’ve used this as a soft cheese on a charcuterie board.

Thai Style Yellow Curry Sauce

Taylor isn’t the biggest fan of this, but I love this Thai Curry sauce. I’ve paired this with Riced Cauliflower or Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry along with shrimp. Tofu or chicken would also go well with this sauce. One of my favorite things to do is soak up sauce with bread. In the past I’ve bought Nan that TJs sells to wipe the bowl clean.

Green Dragon Hot Sauce

This sauce is now a staple in our household. It has such a great flavor and is not too spicy. We, especially Taylor, put this on almost everything. It’s great on eggs and any of the Asian dishes I’ve listed above.

Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning

Such a great find! My favorite dish to make with this is on sweet potatoes! Check out my link here (:

Sweet Chili Sauce

This goes great with the Veggie Spring Rolls. This is more sweet than spicy, so if you are sensitive to spice, no need to worry too much about this one.

Danish Kringle

This is a seasonal item and I never know when they will be in or what flavor. It is always a nice surprise when I walk in and see them. We have tried 3 different Kringles thus far: almond, pumpkin, and raspberry. Our favorite has been almond and, although good, we probably won’t get the raspberry one again.

Panda Puffs Cereal

Not necessarily a dessert, but I do like to have a bowl of cereal after dinner from time to time. It is not too sweet and has a subtle peanut butter flavor.

Speculoos Cookie Butter

So many desserts you can make with this. It is even great just dipping pretzels in this! We’ve also spread it on top of homemade rice krispies. I’ve had this for awhile and couldn’t think of other ideas to make this with so I will help you out too: puppy chow, no bake cookies, and cookie butter banana crescent rolls.

Tea Tree Oil Face Wash + Body Wash

Great face wash, but sometimes dries out my skin, so I also use Trader Joe’s face lotion. The body wash is great too and has a great minty smell.

Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo + Conditioner

Great product, but just make sure you do not get in your eyes!

I would love to hear what your favorite products are from Trader Joe’s! Comment below so I can give them a try.
